Do you like bikes, downtown, good conversation, and great company? Then come enjoy a night full of all of the above! This bicycle tour will be downtown-centric and will include stops at a local brewery, a leisurely pedal through the winding canal of Big Spring Park, and a stop at a restaurant/bar that has been restored from Huntsville’s old Lumberyard, finishing up at the same place we started.
We’ll start and stop at Green Bus Brewery, which will be a great place to park your car. After enjoying a(n) [optional] brew, and maybe some homemade tasties there, we’ll hop on our bikes and wind through Big Spring Park (and along the City’s new bike lane!) taking in the sights, to include: the downtown square, the gorgeous spring that Huntsville was founded around, and the Huntsville Madison County Veteran’s Memorial.
After our little pedal, we’ll find ourselves at A. M. Booth’s Lumberyard, a chic locale that is great for brunch, a fancy dinner in a rail car, or even just a quick local brew. We’ll stop here to enjoy a quick tour of the grounds, and if we’re lucky, some live music! Beverages will also be available for purchase at this stop.
From there, we’ll make our way back to Green Bus for a final [optional] brew with the crew and some nice little “thanks for coming” gifts.
As we cycle, I’ll make an effort to get to know you personally, while discussing aspects of Huntsville’s bike infrastructure and its future growth, throwing in some knowledge of the rich history surrounding Big Spring, and maybe a couple of local secrets and must-see locations!
