When you think of EarlyWorks Children’s Museum, you may picture the hands-on history museum with a talking tree, ever-changing educational exhibits, and a great place to spend a free day with your kiddos. It is absolutely all of these things and more!
Our team at Touronimo recently partnered with the folks at EarlyWorks Children’s Museum to create a client event. We collaborated to design a convention welcome reception with history, humor, networking opportunities, and a little friendly competition, creating an unforgettable night.
WHY WE CHOSE THIS VENUE
For Touronimo it was the perfect choice, when in early 2023, a client reached out to us in search of a Huntsville event venue to meet their unique needs. This group was looking for somewhere in downtown Huntsville and within walking distance of 106 Jefferson hotel. They wanted somewhere unique and anything but a typical event space. Also, the attendees shared an interest in education and educational activities. Boy, did we have the perfect place for them!
Before you get ahead of us and envision the beautiful Grand Hall at EarlyWorks. You know, the place where maybe you attended a prom, a lovely wedding reception or a company Christmas party? Think again! Did you know, the entire museum at EarlyWorks is available for rental?
That’s right, you can take over the whole museum for an evening function and create an unlike-any other, event experience where kids can be kids and adults can too! Space is based on availability.
WHERE WE EMBRACED AND PERSONALIZED THE SPACE
For this client, we enlisted the team at Endless Catering. We worked with them to lean heavily into the educational and scientific nature of this group. We decided to embrace the “chemistry” created by the tinker science lab off the main museum floor. A special take on drink options was placed here for a fun and engaging beverage experience.
The museum’s General Store/Cafe area played host to a large charcuterie board display. Other food stations were placed near the talking tree, inside the log cabin, and sprinkled elsewhere throughout the museum. Furthermore, themed foods and activities could be found everywhere guests turned. Additionally, hors d’oeuvres were continually passed throughout the crowd to keep them moving and exploring this engaging space.
HOW IT ALL WENT
Once all the “hellos” were done the group moved to the classic Grand Hall for a pinewood derby race! A surprise to us, not the first one hosted here.
Finally, it was rave reviews all around from the planners and attendees for the venue, the event teams, the food, the experience… An easy walk back to the host hotel capped off an evening of comradery, childlike enthusiasm and a taste of what makes our Rocket City unique.
If you’re interested in “thinking outside the ballroom” and creating a night to remember like this, you can reach out to the team at EarlyWorks to reserve your space. And, as always, the team at Touronimo is here to help you take your Huntsville event venue to the next level!
